Fire crews called to Ribbleton retirement home

A crew from Preston Fire Station were called to a fire at a retirement home on Friday night.

Firefighters received the call at 6.53pm about a fire in a kitchen at New Brook House.

The sheltered accommodation, containing 41 flats, is on New Hall Lane, Ribbleton.

A fire had started in a pan and there was severe damage to it.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service also reported there was light smoke damage to one of the flats and a cooker hood.
