It is the second planning application in weeks from Andrew Bradshaw, who is seeking to develop the Maxy House Farm on Sandy Lane, Cottam.

Anyon Architects who have prepared the plans say the new homes would introduce an “element of diversity” into the area.

They state: “The proposed site is for a very small number of units which as the the previous documents illustrate will not prejudice the significantly larger proposals approved in outline or pending determination and would also introduce an element of diversity and choice into a market area that otherwise will be restricted to the major national and regional housing developers .

“The site is currently self contained being the site of No242 Lightfoot Lane for access and vacant pasture land and is likely to generate less than double the traffic generation of the eight detached houses permitted of recent times across the road on Daisyfield’s cul de sac and thus it is suggested that the approval can be made in accordance with Policy V1 and Policy MD2.”

The full plans can be found on the council website.

Anyone wishing to comment o n the application should do so via the council website or email devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting reference number 06/2014/0025 by Thursday 13 February.
