Fire crews put out armchair blaze on West Cliff

Fire fighters from Preston have been tackling a blaze in Broadgate this afternoon.

At 2.43pm on Sunday a crew were called to West Cliff Terrace after an armchair caught alight.

Severe damage was caused to the chair and moderate smoke damage to the lounge.

Light smoke damage was caused to the rest of the property.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said they will be carrying out home fire safety checks in the area following the fire.
