Observant Prestonians passing through Guild Hall Arcade may have noticed the closure of yet another business in the city.
Once popular cafe and sandwich bar Cassandra’s has sadly buttered its last barm cake.
The well established cafe right at the heart of Preston, which served traditional good value grub and a nice cuppa, has gone into liquidation.
According to reports the business had been in administration for a while and the creditors finally accepted voluntary liquidation. A notice from Preston Council stuck to the cafe window states that they took possession of the premises on Wednesday 8 January. The Council has forfeited the lease and changed the locks.
The Council are the Landlords for Guild Hall Arcade and decided to close down Cassandra’s (Fulwood) Limited who were the tenants.
The take-out part of Cassandra’s was particularly popular with students and office workers from the nearby Guild Centre and ironically Preston Council itself, with the Town Hall just across the road.
liquidation is the process by which a company is brought to an end, and the assets and property of the company redistributed.
