Ashton townhouses on the canal get planning approval

Shelley Road homes which back onto the Lancaster Canal
A proposal to build 12 new town houses on land near the Ashton canal basin has been approved.
Councillors voted on Monday to give outline planning permission to Kirkham-based Baxter Construction for the scheme.
The development will see new homes erected overlooking the Lancaster Canal.
A new road connecting to Tulketh Brow will also be included in the scheme.
A full planning permission is now expected to be lodged by developers on the site of some former garages.
