Last night I popped along to the preview of Winter, the new exhibition at Oxheys Mill Studios.

If you like art and culture and haven’t yet visited the artist run gallery now is the time to do it.

Set up by three Preston based artists Oxheys Mill Studios provides studio and gallery space to resident and other local artists.

I loved the range of work being exhibited, from the detailed fine art photography of Denise Swanson to a quirky etching entitled ‘Memento’ by Julia Swarbrick and two beautiful ceramic plates decorated in platinum and blue lustre by Elizabeth Emmens-Wilson.

There is a lovely energy in the exhibition space, it’s a good antedote to the crazy lead up to Christmas.

The exhibition is open every Friday and Saturday before Christmas, from 12-3pm and again in the new year from 10th – 24th January 2014.

All the artwork being exhibited is available for sale and there is also a special under £20 area selling hand-made cards, art and prints.
