The latest issue of the Preston Magazine gives a glimpse of the city during bygone times.

Edited by Penwortham resident Heather Crook the magazine is full of nostalgia and local history about Preston.

The latest issue includes an extract from the 1883 issue of the Preston Chronicle about how the Market Place used to be.

There’s also an appeal for information about Miss Andy Anderton, and her time spent in Preston.

She wrote about her memories growing up in the Harris Orphanage from 1912 to 1922.

Preston’s pub blogger Steve Halliweel also pens a piece about the history of the Corn Exchange, now The Assembly. And the stars who have performed there over the years.
