The wall of the front garden was destroyed in the incident

A car has crashed into a house at the corner of Watling Street Road and Sir Tom Finney Way.

The accident took place close to the Marinos Italian restaurant and The Sumners pub.

A collision involving a black Fiat Punto and a silver Ford Focus happened around 1.30pm.

It ended with the Punto going into the front of a house, through the garden wall. The wall of the house is not damaged.

A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said there were no injuries.

Officers from Lancashire Police are at the scene.

Motorists in the area have described the incident as “complete mayhem”.

Delays are expected to traffic in the area.
