A CCTV image released by Lancashire Police showing the woman wanted in connection with the attack

Police have released CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak in connection with an assault at a fast-food restaurant in the city.

A student was hit in the right earhole with a high heeled stiletto shoe at the McDonalds on Friargate.

The 24-year-old man, from Bamber Bridge, was waiting to be served with a friend.

The friend became involved in a drunken argument with a woman who was in the queue. According to Lancashire Police the friend of the victim is pushed by the woman, and as the victim intervenes he is hit in the face with the shoe.

DC Michael Riley said: “This was an unprovoked assault which resulted in the victim sustaining a serious injury to his ear. I would appeal to anybody that recognises the woman pictured in the CCTV image to come forward.”

The woman is described as having dark brown, wavy hair and was wearing a pink jacket, white top and black leggings.

The inident took place on Sunday 13 October.
