Traffic at the Broughton roundabout is often backed up due to congestion on the A6

Work on the Broughton roundabout is due to be completed just before Christmas.

Lancashire County Council have been working on the roundabout since June, part of their transport plan for the North of the city, to ease congestion.

Motorists are being reminded there will be overnight closures of the roundabout throughout the rest of November and December.

Closures run from 8pm to 6am and lane closures will be in place, including full closure of the M55 at some points.

Diversions will be put in place and the dates of the motorway closure will be publicised via motorway signs.

The Broughton roundabout scheme is adding traffic lights to the whole of the roundabout, resurfacing and more lighting.
