The public vote for Miss Preston 2014 is now open.

The lucky winner of the Miss Preston title is directly entered into the Miss England competition and has a chance to go on to Miss World to win $100,000.

It may be a beauty pageant, but the organisers are looking for more than a beauty queen. They are looking for an ambassador for the area.

The Miss Preston winner will be actively encouraged to use their title to promote the area and raise the profile of many worthy causes throughout the year. Not just a modelling competition, they are looking for someone with confidence and able to communicate. Great qualities that the judges will be looking for.

With “Beauty with a Purpose” organisers aim to raise as much money as possible for Charity through contestant fundraising and activities.

The Miss Preston title is open to girls born in Preston or have lived, worked or studied in the Preston area.

Last year Miss Preston Guild, Mary-Kate McKay, narrowly missed out on a trip to Miss World after coming third in the Miss England finals at Torquay.

Entries for Miss Preston are now closed but voting continues until 12pm Sunday 20th October.

The final of Miss Preston will be held on Sunday 20th October at the Playhouse Theatre, Preston.

Doors 7pm show starts 7.30pm.
