Escape the crazy weather and get creative with the kids this half term. The Harris Museum and Art Gallery is running two events to celebrate The Big Draw, an annual event that celebrates drawing for all.
The events kick off on Wednesday 30th October 2013 with artists Sam Aylwin and Bob Heath. They will be on hand to show you how to draw using traditional techniques. Sue McAuley, an MA student from UCLan will be on hand to bring the drawing future to life using tablets and apps.
On Saturday 2nd November the Harris invites you to draw and sketch your way around the Harris Museum and Art Gallery.
Steph Fletcher, a freelance artist and project co-ordinator explains, “You can draw what you like, or pick up an info sheet and try different types of drawing techniques – perspectives in the landscape gallery, and proportions in the portrait gallery, for instance. There will be plenty of materials on hand for you to take with you on your visit around the collections.”
“We’ll also have an informal mini-comic/zine making activity – where you might like to create a a short story inspired by the Discover Preston collections.”
“It’s a free, informal, drop-in day for anyone. No need to book – just turn up – and stay as long as you like.”
