If you watch Birmingham based sitcom Citzien Khan currently showing on BBC One and catch Alia, Mr Khan’s rebellious young daughter, you might ask where is her brummie accent? She sounds like a Preston lass.
Well, Alia is played by beautiful Preston actress Bhavna Limbachia and you can see her each week playing Alia Khan on the hit BBC comedy.
Alia is a character with great fashion sense helping make the hijab sexy! To her dad she is the perfect daughter but little does he know what she gets up to when he’s not looking.
Bhavna is a self confessed fashion addict herself. She is the founder and designer at Vintage Box trading from Marsh Lane in Preston which offers a great range of retro style handbags and purses amongst other vintage goods.
Her favouite fashion shop in Preston is also vintage in style. She likes to shop at Retro Rehab. The shop that stocks the most amazing retro and vintage dresses which have been carefully repaired, tailored and brought back to life.
She said in a recent interview “the great thing about the dresses are that you’ll never be faced with that embarrassing moment when you arrive at a party wearing the same dress as someone else. Trust me I’ve been there and it wasn’t fun. Retro Rehab all the way.”
When asked what her favourite local restaurant was in a recent interview she said she loved Italian food and nominated The Hidden Gem – Marietta’s in Preston as the best place to go. She added “they do the most delicious Italian hazelnut ice cream too.”
