Cyclist in hospital after collision with car on university campus

A cyclist is in hospital tonight after an accident on Preston’s university campus.

Preston Police confirmed an incident took place on Adelphi Street between a cyclist and a motorist on Thursday at 9.15pm.

Claire E Coster, who was in the area, tweeted: “Just witnessed a nasty traffic accident on UCLan campus – please drive carefully people, look out for cyclists and pedestrians.”

Police confirmed the cyclist was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

Heavy rain has lashed Preston from 6pm on Thursday, leading to flooding on many roads and difficult driving conditions.
