Abundance Preston is helping to stop the waste and make good the use of unpicked fruit across Preston.
On National Apple Day Sunday 20th October there will be an opportunity to get involved at Preston’s Green Flag Award winning park in Ashton.
As part of the fun on the day bring your own apples to be pressed (don’t forget to bring some empty bottles), get involved collecting any apples from around the park or just take a tour and admire the glorious Autumnal colours.
Promised for the day are lots of fun family activities. Get wet and messy apple bobbin or try your hand at making the longest apple peel. Meet the friendly park rangers and watch local Morris dancers go their thing.
Last year in the grounds of Whittingham Hospital over 200 people enjoyed free and freshly squeezed apple juice at the very successful first abundance event.
As well as two children’s play areas, two bowling greens, tennis courts and nine football pitches, Ashton Park also boasts a fine open landscape, small woodlands, flower displays and a peace garden.
Join he event at the Rangers pavilion in the park.
It’s a free event
