A woman has been rescued from a house fire in Ingol.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue were called to reports of a fire at Barry Avenue at 4.05pm on Monday.

They found a first floor flat ablaze and the flat was heavily smoke logged.

Crews searched the property and took a woman to safety. She has now been taken to hospital.

Fulwood crews were dispatched and four breathing apparatus were used, one hose reel, a ventilation unit and a First Aid Kit.
