The Doof Food Company which had an outlet on Market Street in Preston has mysteriously closed.

We have been unable to contact the owners by telephone or by email. Their Twitter and Facebook accounts have either closed or not updated since August.

The family run business had the aim to create wholesome, tasty and affordable food to busy people on the go. The word Doof is ‘food’ backwards. The Doof team created the tag-line ‘turning food on its head’ to sum up their attitude to food.

Feeding people since 2011 they offered real home made grub popular with shoppers and office workers alike. Almost everything made on site and locally sourced. They served slow cooked fast food. People raved about the The Moroccan Spiced Chicken. Their sausage rolls were the best in town!

Doof had stalls at several local food festivals this year including the Lancashire Market held in Preston. It was a friendly place any many people enjoyed sitting in their window with one of their excellent sandwiches watching Preston pass by.

Now they are boarded up and sign gone. And we don’t know why.

If anyone knows why Doof closed please let us know
