Homes in St Matthews have lead stolen from roof

Over 30 houses have had lead stolen from their roofs in the St Matthews area of the city.


Lancashire Police have launched an investigation following the spate of thefts.

Police believe the lead flashing was stolen overnight between Saturday 17 August and Wednesday 21 August.

32 houses on Shakespeare Road, Tennyson Road and Thompson Street have been targeted.

PC Rachel Wilson said: “These lead thefts have occurred over a period of four days in the St Matthews area of Preston.

“If anybody has any information at all about these thefts then I would ask them to contact police.”
