Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a stabbing in the city centre.
AdvertisementOfficers were called to an incident on Fishergate on Saturday 1 September at 2.30am.
A disturbance had broken out between two groups of men between Boots the chemist and Bank clothes shop on the main shopping street in the city.
It resulted in one of the men, a 31-year-old, being stabbed in the stomach.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital. The offenders ran off towards Cross Street down Cannon Street.
PC Peter Burns said. “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and contact the police. We need to find the person responsible for this assault.
“If anyone recognises this man then I would urge them to contact the police. I would also appeal direct to the man in the CCTV image to get in touch with us.
“The victim is a local man and he is continuing his recovery at home being looked after by friends and family.”
