Prestonians are being asked to vote for their favourite city centre venue.

Categories including best restaurant, entertainment venue, pub, manager, waiter or waitress and entertainer of the year are up for grabs in the Alive After Five awards

Over 3,000 votes have already been cast via the online voting system.

The awards, run by Preston’s Business Improvement District, will be decided by online votes for personal awards and a combination of public votes and mystery shoppers for venue awards.

Marketing & events manager, Mark Whittle said: “Working with the city centre’s night time economy businesses has been brilliant, they are a supportive and engaging sector who clearly see the benefits of working together to promote the city centre as a destination.

“Recognising those people that work tirelessly to improve our night time offering seemed a natural thing to do and we’re confident the people of Preston will get on board and vote in their masses for their winner.”

Voting is only open to those aged over 18 and it closes on Friday 27 September.

Visit the Preston By Night Facebook page to cast your vote.
