There will be plenty of traders down Friargate once again as the Lancashire Market returns.
If you’re looking for top local produce it is definitely a date for your diary.

Want to find out about green energy?
For a completely different say out you can pile onto a coach and head for the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth.
Run by the Beautiful Planet cafe on Friargate and sponsored by Preston Friends of the Earth it is their Big Day Out.
It’s £5 return and the coach leaves from Carlisle Street, Preston at 8am on Thursday 15 August. Entry fees to the centre are extra (up to £7.50).
Make the kids fight, in a good way
Join Civil War soldiers at the Museum of Lancashire to find out what happened in the city.
For 4-11 year olds they can spend an hour learning about the Battle of Preston.
It’s £1 and takes place on Wednesday 14 August one session at 11am – 12noon and another at 1.30pm to 2.30pm

But get the kids doing some craft at the Museum of Lancashire with a Civil War theme.
It’s 11am to 12noon and 1.30pm to 2.30pm on Thursday 15 August.
£1 again and for children aged 4-11.
