Preston’s indoor beach opens at St George’s Shopping Centre

Eduardo was the first visitor to the new beach

An indoor beach for shoppers has opened in a major Preston shopping centre.

Staff at the St George’s Centre opened the strip of sand which allows kids to play in the sand while parents shop.

14-tonnes of sand has been shipped in to create the beach, Paul Melling went down to snap a few photos as it opened to the public.

Alanna from the St George's centre hopes the beach will bring in more shoppers

Vintage stalls will start popping up one at a time during the four weeks the beach will be in residence.
