Which ward do you represent? University Ward

How long have you represented the ward? First elected to Preston City Council in 1999

Do you live in the ward/How long have you lived in the ward? No I live four mins away in Moss Ave, Ashton

Do you still work? If so, what do you do? No I took early retirement from BAe to devote more time to my constituents.

If you’ve retired, what did you used to do? Started work for BAe in 1980 at Strand Rd in the fiberglass dept. then moved up to Samlesbury as a multi skilled aircraft fitter.

What’s your favourite thing about your ward/or place to visit in your ward? The friendliness of the constituents and there willingness to get involved.

Describe your perfect day spent in and around Preston (what would you do, where would you go?) Visit our wonderful parks, spend some time in the Harris museum then enjoy a meal in one of the City’s many top class restaurants then maybe have a pint in one of real ale pubs.

What are you most proud of since you became a councillor? Becoming the Guild Mayor in 2012

What one thing would you change about Preston? Remove the crazy ring road that runs through the centre of the city.

How do you see Preston’s future? At the moment with all the various projects that are being discussed and planed Preston should look forward to becoming more buoyant and prosperous.

What do you do when you’re not being a councillor or at work? Spend time at home with my wife and family and also pottering around in the garden (under the wife’s guidance).
