A £100,000 revamp of the city’s BMX track has brought it up to national standard.
The home of the Preston Pirates in Fishwick has been funded to ensure the track is good enough for competitions.
Paul Melling went down to see it opened on Saturday and racers give it their seal of approval.
The track was opened up for riders of all abilities to give it a go.
Dignitaries from the club and the council were on hand to welcome visitors.
The track originally opened in 2006 and now sees hundreds of riders using it every week.
