Art work from the ALISON project will be on display
A community festival in Brookfield will offer a fun day for all the family on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The Sound Skills Festival will include a bring and buy sale, music on the SoundSquare stafe, films and animatons and food and drink.
The event is being put on by the Soundskills group and will take place on Sunday 25 August from 12noon at 7 to 9 on Langcliffe Road.
Work from creative projects ALISON (Artists living in situations of need) and White Lab Studios will be on display and performed.
Laura Hurd, community development worker, said: “We have built a small outdoor stage called the ‘Sound Square’ for live music performances from local talent we have been working with. We have crafts going on, face painting, a screen playing all the films/music videos/animations that are made here, and hopefully (to be confirmed) some family orientated activities such as a bouncy castle, a raffle, ‘animal man’, a bring & buy sale, a crafts table, food & drinks and much more.”
Sounskills is a community centre which aims to improve the lives of people living in and around Brookfield through creative projects and activities.
More information on the festival can be found on Facebook and Twitter.
