Victoria House could become city centre apartments for hundreds of residents

A former office block could become city centre apartments overlooking the Bus Station, Flag Market and beyond.

Victoria House on Ormskirk Road is owned by Manchester-based developers Mayfair.

They are now seeking planning permission to change it into 69 city centre apartments.

The property was listed on Rightmove in December 2012 with a guide price of £250,000. Blackpool-based estate agents Metcalf’s have the property listed on their website saying it was withdrawn from auction in December for £240,000.

The ten floor office block had been home to Lifeline Language Services, EDS Ltd and Hewlett Packard. Some of the businessess have long-term leases running until 2017.

Mayfair’s previous developments include Castlefield Locks and they are currently working on a development on Leeds Waterside.

The full plans are available on the council website.

Anyone wishing to comment on the change of use application should do so on the city council website or emailing devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting reference 06/2013/0591 by Sunday 15 September.
