Body recovered from the River Ribble at Avenham Park

A body has been recovered from the River Ribble.

Police and other emergency services have been on the riverbank at Avenham Park since just before 3pm according to an eyewitness.

Lancashire Police confirmed a body was recovered from the water at around 3.30pm.

They have launched an investigation. No further details have been released.

An eyewitness said: “Police on the riverbank. Helicopter, paramedic car, boat, fire brigade and ambulance all at the scene.”
