Police are appealing for witnesses to shed light on a theft from a theatre.

Various stage lights have been stolen from The Playhouse on Market Street West which is currently under renovation.

Staff came to test the lights and realised they were missing.

Police believe the lights were taken between 24 June and 8 July.

PC Emma Jackson said: “If anybody has any information about the theft of these specialist lights I would urge them to contact police.

“Work is currently being done on the roof of the theatre using money which theatre staff have raised themselves so this will have a huge impact them.

“Please come forward if you think you can help.”
