Firefighters in Preston and Fulwood have faced three blazes over the weekend.

A bedroom fire in Brookfield saw engines from Preston Fire Station dispatched on Sunday at 12.16pm.

One hose reel, pressure ventelation and a first aid kit were used to put out a fire in bed and bedding on Silverdale Drive.

A fire in recycling bins on Fishergate was tackled late on Saturday night.

Crews were called at 11.05pm after eight recycling bins were destroyed due to a fire in an industrial compactor and skips.

Firefighters had to use two hose reel jets to deal with the fire which destroyed the cardboard compactor and damaged half of the four remaining recycling bins.

On Friday evening in Inskip a tractor caught fire.

The blaze on Higham Side Road was due to a telescopic loader which was destroyed.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are reminding residents to dispose of cigarettes and embers carefully in the hot weather to reduce to risk of fire.
