The current railway bridge is being removed and a new bridge installed.
A diversion will be put in place with drivers urged to use Plungington Road, Blackpool Road and Woodplumpton Road.
For those on foot there is an alternative route from Mill Lane to Lytham Road and then Black Bull Lane.
Preston Bus confirmed the 88A and the 88C will be affected.
During the closure the 88A will operate as normal but go up Black Bull Lane, Plungington Road, Blackpool Road to Lane Ends, Woodplumpton Road then as normal route to Ingol.
The 88C will continue on Woodplumpton Road instead of Cadley Causeway going to Lane Ends, Blackpool Road, Plungington Road to Blackbull Lane and as normal route to RPH.
