Just arrived today on the historic Flag Market in Preston, a travelling European Gift Market.

On offer are stalls offering a wide range of handmade goods to buy including great smelling soaps, delicious looking crepes, olives, jewellery and a smart range of fashion items. I tried a selection of sweets from the Italian Biscuits stall. Very tasty

We reported Councillor Robert Boswell, the cabinet member for environment, as saying: “We need to give shoppers a reason to come into the city centre rather than shopping online. The European Gift Market will create a real buzz in the city and I am sure local people will come out and support it.”

The Sun was out today and there certainly was a buzz around the market

The European Gift Market will be in town until Saturday 22 June from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day.
