A machete-wielding gang attached a security van full of cash in Ribbleton on Wednesday.
AdvertisementThree men, wearing balaclavas, stole a number of cash cassettes from the van outside the Brookfield Newsagent on Langcliffe Road.
The incident took place at 9.30am on Wednesday 12 June and forensic officers have been examining the scene since.
The three men left the scene in a Mini Cooper which was found abandoned at Troutbeck Place.
Detective Inspector Keith Lee from Preston CID said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed some suspicious activity in the area to come forward and contact the police.
“I am also keen to find out where the three men once they had abandoned the Mini in Troutbeck Place. If anyone has any information then I would urge them to speak to us.”
