The Preston Passion is up against a number of other TV shows in a vote to become religious show of the year.
The Radio Times and the Sandford St Martin Trust team up each year to award one show for religious broadcasting.
Brendan Dell who took part in the performance is encouraging others to vote.
She said: “I’m thrilled because it has already won one award and is clearly achieving high status nationally. As you know it was always produced with intent to use it for global education also.
“Who were those key characters and how did they handle life choices? What parallels in life issues are to be found in the Gospels.”
3,500 people took part in the show which was shown on BBc1 over the Easter Weekend in 2012.
