Detective Sergeant Steve Ryder said: “The man who helped the woman was wearing a white top and helped her to get into the taxi around 3.30am. If this was you, or you know who this was, please contact police. We believe this man may have crucial information which could help with our investigation.
“We do have CCTV of the man, although it’s not the best quality, but if you recognise him please come forward. I want to stress this man is a witness and acted as a Good Samaritan with the intention of getting the woman home safely, he did not get in the taxi with her.
“We are also trying to trace a woman who assisted the young lady out of the side door of the pub at 3.20am. Again, if this was you, please come forward, you may also have information which could assist us.”
