The former leading politician and regular TV political pundit Ann Widdecombe will be coming to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) for a charity book signing event.
Ann is perhaps better known to a younger audience for her ‘stand-out’ appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. In fact the event has been organised to tie in with the release of her Ann’s autobiography ‘Strictly Ann.’
Popular Kirkham independent book retailer SilverDell secured an ‘Evening With Ann Widdecombe’ to be held in the University’s Greenbank Lecture Theatre on Tuesday 16 July from 7.00pm to 9.30pm.
Ann will give a special talk and later do a Q & A session about her 20 year political career that included time as Shadow Health Secretary in 1998 and Shadow Home Secretary in 1999 as well as life outside of Whitehall, where she has made a number of television documentaries, published four novels and appeared in the 2010 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Tickets to the event are £20 and include a signed and personalised hardback copy of Ann’s new book. The UCLan has previously welcomed leading sports broadcaster Clare Balding and legendary Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook last year for charity book signing events organised by SilverDell.
Proceeds from the event will go to the University’s Harris Bursary Fund.
