Nearly 80 businesses have signed up for a Bank Holiday bonanza of events in the city centre.
AdvertisementPrestFest unites bars, restaurants and other venues for three nights worth of special offers, events and performances.
Events on from Saturday 4 May include free history tours of the city, an all male stripshow at Rumes nightclub and £9.95 set menus at the Olive Press for two.
Ten lucky punters will also win £100 each to spend in the city centre when local radio station Rock FM visit venues on Saturday 4 May.
The weekend has been organised by the Preston Business Improvement District to celebrate the city retaining its award for being a great night out.
The Purple Flag award is given to city centres which have a varied and high quality entertainment offer.
Chair of BID’s Preston By Night group, Jessica Toomey of the Frog & Bucket Comedy Club said: “It’s exciting to be working on a project like this, I’m not aware of any other towns or cities that have such a strong partnership between entertainment operators with a willingness to come together to improve trade for us all.
“BID’s financial investment will allow us all to do something different, to position Preston as a place to go if for a safe, vibrant and fun night out.
“It’s not about going out and getting drunk, it’s about dining, taking in a show, or enjoying cocktail or two, Preston has a massive offering by night and working together as an industry to provide a complete package for visitors is the way forward.”
The BID are putting £20,000 into funding the weekend.
