A former motor parts office on Fylde Road could become new flats and housing.
An application by Mrs Rizwana Bala outlines how the derelict building on one of Preston’s major roads would be brought back into use.
The detached property has been empty for over five years and Mrs Bala wants to turn it into three five bedroomed flats and one five bedroom house.
Between 173 and 183 Fylde Road, formerly Parrys Motor Parts Ltd, is just before the railway bridge and across the road from the NHS offices.
An environmental survey by Martin Prescott Environmental Services found there was the potential for bats to be roosting – although the area is considered to be low value for bats.
Mr Prescott’s recommendation suggests an activity survey must be carried out before any building work begins.
A noise assessment survey showed the roar of traffic along Fylde Road would cause issues unless the property is protected against noise pollution.
