Mobile phone thief wanted by police after Penwortham assault

Police are hunting a thief who snatched a Penwortham woman’s phone from her hand in the early hours of Monday morning.

The woman, who was leaving her partners home on Stricklands Lane at 1.50am on April 1, was talking on her mobile when someone ran up and snatched the phone causing a cut and swelling to her face.

Detective Constable David Nuttall who is investigating said: “The lady has been left traumatized and very shaken by the ordeal. Her mobile phone has been taken and I would urge anyone with any information about what happened to come forward.”

The offender was last seen running in the direction of Hill Road South.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
