A masked gang are being hunted by police after attacking a man at his home in Ribbleton.

The attack took place at 11.15pm at the 39-year-old man’s home in Waverley Road.

He was watching television on Good Friday when a number of men, wearing face coverings, burst through the door and attacked him.

Detective Inspector Jo Edwards said: “The victim sustained a number of injuries to his head and leg which resulted in him suffering significant blood loss.

“Fortunately, his own quick thinking in preventing further blood loss, as well as the assistance of the paramedics who attended, ensured that the injuries were not life threatening.
