The pavillion at Moor Park
Visitors to Moor Park could soon be able to enjoy a game of table tennis.
Preston City Council is applying for permission to set up tables for the game.
The tables are due to be part of the playground and exercise zone near the bowling greens.
The plans have the support of the Friends of Moor Park who are keen to develop the play facilities in the park.
A report by the council states: “Table tennis is a growing sport in the UK and an equal opportunities sport at that.
“It can be played almost anywhere and there are few restrictions.
“It is hoped that the proposed table tennis tables will be a definite contribution to increased activity and positive social behaviour in the park.”
The park is Grade II listed and it and the surrounding streets are now a dedicated Conservation Area.
