Recently reported in the Blog, Police asking again for information about a prisoner who has absconded whilst out on day release.
Brian Lynch, 44, absconded yesterday afternoon (7th March) whilst on a day trip to Preston City Centre at around 3pm and was last seen on Market Street.
There have been possible sighting of Lynch at Preston Bus Station at just after 3pm and then a second on Stanley Grove in Penwortham at around 5:15pm. Police are now investigating the sightings.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Gilbert said; “As a result of further enquiries made since Lynch absconded yesterday afternoon, there is a possibility that he may become a risk to the public the longer he is away from prison and so we would urge people not to approach him if they do see him, but to call police immediately.
DCI Gilbert continued; “I want to reassure people that we have a team of officers dedicated to finding Lynch and who will be following up every single lead or sighting of him so I would ask anyone who thinks they have seen him to call us.
“Although he could still be in Lancashire, there is a possibility he may travelled back to the Greater Manchester area and so we would ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to the police – any details the public may have could be crucial.”
He is described as five feet tall, of stocky build, with blue eyes, short, cropped ginger hair and may have ginger / grey stubble. He was wearing black trousers, a black jacket and dirty grey suede and leather trainers.
