UCLan choir

Special charity concert given by the UCLan Chamber Choir Concert with guest choirs from Runshaw College, Fulwood Academy and Harris Primary School.

Each year the The UCLan Chamber Choir invites local schools and colleges to join them in a concert held at the University. As well as raising funds for their choir robes, the concert also supports the UCLan’s Harris Bursary Fund which helps disadvantaged students.

The Choir was formed in 2005 with 16 members, increasing to 28 members in 2009. All of the singers are undergraduate BA(Hons) Music Theatre students whose main passion is singing. Made up of students, each year its membership changes with members leaving the University and new members auditioned from September’s intake..

The UCLan Chamber Choir’s director, Mark Goggins, is the Course Leader for the Music Theatre degree at UCLan. He has many years’ experience in choral music, including as a cathedral choir director, musical director of Radio 4’s Daily Service and as a guest director, conductor and coach.

The award-winning student choir has a wide and varied repertoire that includes music from the Renaissance to the present day, as well as a range of styles from classical to swing. Members act as positive role models for the younger children and provide a focal point for choral singing for children of all ages in education in the local area.

Refreshments will be available on arrival and during the interval. There will also be a raffle on the night.

Tickets £9 adults and £6 children/students can be booked over the telephone by credit or debit card.
