Falling temperatures and more snow are expected to cause disruption in Preston and across the North West this week.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for snow on Tuesday from 2am until 9am, disrupting the morning commute.
Up to 10-15cm of snow could fall within six hours particularly on higher group.
The warning from the forecasters states “The public should be prepared for disruption, particularly to transport, with trans-Pennine routes at particular risk.”
A yellow warning for snow and ice was already in place for much of the North West for Monday and Tuesday.
Overnight on Monday temperatures are set to drop to as low as -4 in Preston and it will barely feel above freezing for the rest of the week.
