As part of our regular posts on Preston and District RSPCA Animal Centre, Blog Preston would like to remind readers that the shelter is still in urgent need of funds to prevent early closure.
I have heard that thanks to recent fundraising efforts, for the first time in a very long time their finances did not not show a loss for the month of January. Which is encouraging news. But the RSPCA centre asks if everyone reading this message signed up for just £1 per week then they could hopefully stay open a while longer. Just £1 a week can ensure they stay open and help continue to save animals.
The Preston and District RSPCA Animal Centre is self funded and receives no help from RSPCA HQ or the Government.
In an average year, the costs to the centre are up to a staggering £240,000, so donations and fundraising activities are vital in order to keep the centre open.
The Preston and District RSPCA Animal Centre is part of the RSPCA Safe Haven Scheme which was introduced in September 2008. The Scheme enables donators to make regular, safe, monthly payments from as little as £3, to sponsor a dog kennel, cat pen or a rabbit run at the Preston Animal Centre. The donations go to the Preston not national RSPCA.
If you take part in the scheme you become a Sponsor, which can be either for yourself, as a gift, or in memory of a loved one or pet.
The RSPCA say if you join the sponsorship scheme they will display a plaque with your details on our Safe Haven Sponsor Board at the Centre. Send you a welcome pack, including items such as a Unique Certificate and Safe Haven Car Sticker. Display your name on their website as one of their generous Sponsors
