The pavilion at Moor Park
Moor Park and the surrounding area have been officially declared as a Conservation Area by the council.
Councillors voted at last week’s cabinet meeting to approve plans to protect the park and parts of Deepdale, St George’s and Plungington.
They decided the area “is a particularly noteworthy example of late 19th century workers housing built to a grid street design.”
The Conservation Area status means any planning applications within the area will be closely scrutinised to ensure they do not damage the area.

A consultation by Preston City Council found the vast majority of local residents and businesses in support of the proposal.
