A newsletter produced to keep the residents of Broadgate updated on local issues has secured funding from the county council.

County Councillor Yousuf Motala who represents the Preston City area chose to give £670 to the group.

Each councillor gets a local member grant allowance each year to give to good causes or community groups in their ward.

The Broadgate Residents’ Action Group applied for the funding to ensure their newsletter continues to go out for the next three months to 1700 households.

In their application form the group expain the money will be spent on printing the magazine while its content and delivery will be done by “an army of volunteers”.

The magazine includes information on local police and council issues as well as events which are happening in the Broadgate area.
