Heavy snowfall is caused huge disruption to some of Lancashire’s motorways overnight.

The M65, M58 and in particular M6 motorways were affected with drivers being stuck for hours on the M6 between junctions 25 and 27.

Police, the Highways Agency and mountain rescue teams worked hard to get the networks up and running again. The motorway networks are now on the move, but driving conditions are still bad so take care, and be aware that we are down to one lane on the M65, so only travel if you absolutely HAVE to.

East Lancashire has been badly affected by the snow so if you’re in that area or thinking of heading there, try and put off your journey.
