Conversations In Creativity with Pete Fowler at The Continental.
Journalist Dave Haslam will host a question and answer session with Pete from 7pm on 30 January.
The Cardiff born artists work has ‘roamed in the fields of music, illustration, toy design, print making, painting, commercial clients and more recently, cross stitch embroidery’
His work can currently be seen in a major exhibition at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. Some of his most recognisable images have been for the Super Furry Animals’ albums, videos, merchandise and giant inflatable bears.
Fowler is best known for his designer toys of his characters, which he himself manufactures with his own company. His ‘Monsterism’ creations can be found on CDs, toys, clothes, stationary and more, and has an established fan base which can be seen at: www.monsterism.net
Pete is also one half of the smooth rock, ‘deckshoegaze’ music duo Seahawks. The band have released extensively on vinyl, CD and download since 2010 and have remixed a variety of bands as well as the odd spot of DJing.
There will also be an after party with a DJ set by Pete himself from 9pm in the Continental Arts Space. Pete will be playing an eclectic cosmic/psychedelic/smooth selection
