Police Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Cottam, near Preston.
Sometime between 2pm on Monday 10 December 2012 and 10.30am on Sunday 23 December 2012 somebody broke into a property on Flowerfield by smashing a window in the rear patio doors.
Once inside they searched the whole house and stole various items of jewellery including a number of Pandora bracelets and charms, wedding rings and an engagement ring, as well as a camera and a laptop and two mobile phones worth thousands of pounds in total.
Detective Constable Alistair Bledge said: “If anybody has any information at about this burglary then I would urge them to contact police.
“I believe there would have been a lot of noise as the offender or offenders gained access by smashing the window. I would ask people in the area to cast their mind backs to see if they can recall a day where they thought there was a bit of a disturbance or if they noticed any suspicious activity or people.
“The family has been left distressed by what has happened and we will do all we can to try and return their property to them. If you believe you may have been offered any of these items over the past few weeks, or have any knowledge of where this property might be, then please come forward.”
“Some personal papers were also taken during the burglary, including birth certificates, which the family would really like to see returned and would be happy for these to be returned to the police anonymously.”
Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
