It’s officially called the Christmas Lancashire Market, it is really Preston’s festive farmers market.
Taking place on the City’s historic Flag Market in the City centre the market opened today and will also run onto Sunday 9 December, starting at 10am and closing around 4pm.
Having been spoilt by a recent visit to the excellent Manchester Christmas Markets I none the less enjoyed what the compact Preston market had to offer.
A great selection of all things Lancashire are available. The very best producers in the red rose county. High end gifts and crafts will sit side by side with tasty treats; festive fayre. You can try before you buy. All the stall holders are happy to tell about the provenance of their food. Cupcakes, bread, cheese, fish, meats, drinks, chestnuts, gingerbread, mulled wine. It’s all here.
Loads of stalls with lots of choice. plus entertainment for all the family provided by carol singers and bell ringers. Santa is there as well in his shed grotto!
I went late afternoon and managed to get some great bargains
Don’t forget The Tundra Bar is open as well so go and have a rest, a drink and a something to eat.
Here are a few pictures of the market today:
